Greg Paxton came to GATS 10 years after working with electronics systems in the United States Navy for more than seven years. He also worked for the United States Army where he developed software for and maintained fixed- and rotary-wing simulators and support systems at Ft. Rucker, AL for the Directorate of Training, Doctrine and Simulation.

At GATS Greg continues to operate three scientific payloads on-orbit, including SABER on TIMED, SOFIE on AIM, and the SAGE III on ISS. In his operation's and ground system's role, he designs, develops, and implements operations software, plans and procedures for ground testing, on-orbit testing, and operation of scientific payloads. As COO, he is responsible for monitoring the overall operations of GATS including finance and personnel.
